Historic double win for the acclaimed couple at the Blue Dragon Awards.

The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards were held on November 19 at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, with hosts Han Ji-min and Lee Je-hoon guiding the ceremony. Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin made Blue Dragon Awards history as the first couple to win two awards in the same ceremony, taking home the Popular Star Award as well as Best Actor and Best Actress honors. This year’s eligibility slate included 154 Korean films released between October 11, 2024 and October 7, 2025.

The night’s double win marked a significant milestone for both stars, as they secured the Popular Star Award before clinching the Best Actor and Best Actress prizes. The moment underscored a new chapter in Blue Dragon Awards history, and their achievement was noted as the first of its kind since Crash Landing on You in 2019. On stage, the couple’s presence drew a warm reception from the audience.

Hyun Bin took the Best Actor trophy for his role in Hae-rin, while Son Ye-jin’s performance earned her the Best Actress award. Hyun Bin expressed gratitude, saying that the honor reflected the sacrifices and dedication of many people who defend the country. He added that sharing the film’s values and history with the audience brought him happiness.

Son Ye-jin, returning to the screen after marriage and motherhood, spoke about how marriage and motherhood have broadened her emotional range and outlook, and she hoped to continue growing as a person and as an actress. The couple’s warmth continued offstage as Hyun Bin praised Ye-jin and the family they share, with Ye-jin responding with a bright smile.

During the evening’s Popular Star segment, the duo appeared together on stage, with Hyun Bin thanking fans for their votes and the couple exchanging a playful moment that drew applause from the audience. The host and the crowd’s reaction highlighted the moment as a highlight of the night, as Ye-jin joined her husband in celebration.

Historically, the pair first met in 2018’s Negotiation, later developed their romance while working on Crash Landing on You in 2020, and married in 2022, welcoming a son that same year. Their joint recognition at the Blue Dragon Awards further cemented their place in Korean cinema history, marking not just personal milestones but a landmark moment for Korean film awards.
