Dubai's K-Expo UAE Wraps Up: From K-Pop Concerts to MOUs

From K-Pop performances to MOUs, the event yields about $40 million in business talks and 18MOUs

Dubai hosted the 2025 K-Expo: UAE—All About Korea Style, a cross-ministerial international fair designed to let visitors directly experience Korea’s content, food, beauty, and lifestyle products while engaging with local culture. The expo framed convergence as its core value, pairing AI technology with K-content and promoting collaboration across the content and consumer goods sectors while building a global investment network.

The expo’s K-Pop component drew about 18,000 attendees, with a joint performance by local act The Pixis and Billy alongside the lineup featuring Chen, Punch, and Billy. On the 17th and 18th, 114 domestic companies from content, cosmetics, seafood, sports, and consumer goods took part in export matchmaking, conducting 317 consultations with regional buyers. In total, business discussions reached around $40 million, and 18 MOUs were signed, reinforcing Korea–Middle East cooperation.

Observers noted that sustaining the momentum created by the expo would require regular scheduling, with calls for a biennial or triannual cadence. Park Young-il of the UAE Business Center at the Korea Creative Content Agency said that annual events would be financially challenging, suggesting a two- to three-year cycle to allow UAE buyers to plan accordingly.
