"I never went hoarse at a Seventeen concert either": Bo Seung-kwan explains why Kim Yeon-kyung drew disdain

Ahead of the WonderDoks vs. Jeongkwanjang Red Sparks game, Bo Seung-kwan, a 20-year fan of Jeongkwanjang, rolled up his sleeves to brief the team. On the 7th episode of MBC’s Shin-in Director Kim Yeon-kyung, his briefing unfolded as he assessed Jeongkwanjang’s strengths and potential for his teammates. He explained that he had immediately prepared a game plan the moment he learned the match was set.

As he put it, “As a 20-year fan, the strengths, weaknesses, and our possibilities came to mind,” citing Shin Eun-ji’s serve and Kwak Seon-ok’s energy as notable points. He warned the players that Jeongkwanjang tends to fall in an instant when the team falters, adding that coach Ko Hee-jin sometimes changes players abruptly, which he believed would not heavily affect their side.

When BoSeung-kwan referred to “our team,” Pyung Joo and Na-yeon teased that there was a hint of Jeongkwanjang in his heart, joking that he was rooting for Jeongkwanjang. He protested, jokingly: “I don’t even lose my voice at a Seventeen concert; after WonderDoks, my throat hasn’t fully recovered,” underscoring his sincere commitment, and he added that there wouldn’t be any personal gain either way.

The exchange continued as Pyung Joo asked why there was nothing left for BoSeung-kwan, hinting at whether he favored Jeongkwanjang; BoSeung-kwan reportedly replied that he would retract the remark, drawing laughter from the others. In a separate moment, Kim Yeon-kyung had previously noted that BoSeung-kwan had once joined the team as a manager in the early days of WonderDoks, joking about his support for Jeongkwanjang and playfully encouraging Seventeen’s Ho-si.
