Former Teen Top Member Bang Min-su (Cap) to Lead Idol Labor Union Preparatory Committee

Aims to launch within the year and safeguard idols’ rights

Bang Min-su, a former Teen Top member who performs under the stage name Cap, has been named the chair of the Idol Labor Union Establishment Preparatory Committee. The appointment was announced on the 7th by his agency, Moden Berry Korea. The committee is preparing to launch later this year.

The Idol Labor Union Establishment Preparatory Committee is described as an organization to protect the rights of idols and other public culture and arts professionals. It filed its establishment registration with the Seongnam District Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor in September. About ten idols have expressed interest in joining, with singer Ailee confirmed as an open participant.

Seo Min-seon, a researcher at the Democratic Party’s Youth Policy Institute, will oversee the overall preparation and external publicity for the establishment. The committee emphasized the need to set standard manuals covering responses to malicious online comments, mental health management, and crisis notification and medical linkage.

Bang Min-su made his debut with Teen Top in 2010 and has remained active in the industry through various endeavors. In 2025, he signed an exclusive contract with Moden Berry Korea, continuing his activities. He is pursuing a range of activities in the entertainment field.
