Miyeon’s First Solo Comeback Since the Pandemic, Excited to Meet Fans in Person

Miyeon discusses her upcoming second mini album My, Lover and her plans to connect with fans.

Miyeon of (G)I-DLE is making her solo comeback for the first time in three years and six months since the COVID-19 pandemic, signaling a fresh chapter in her career. She hosted a media showcase for the release of her second mini album, My, Lover, at Bluesquare SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan, Seoul, at 4 p.m. on the 3rd.

In her comeback remarks, she expressed gratitude, saying she has spent a joyful year staying busy with many activities and that she had ample time to prepare for this long-awaited return. “I’m grateful to have spent a year doing a lot of things well,” she added, “and I’m really excited for this comeback.”

She also reflected on meeting fans, noting that during her first album promotions she didn’t have the chance to meet fans in person due to the pandemic, but that this time she hopes to see them up close.

Miyeon explained why she selected the title track, Say My Name, a pop ballad that captures the lingering resonance of a name after a breakup. She admitted there were many worries and pressures to present herself well for fans, but chose a song that would allow her to appear natural and comfortable, as she truly is.

My, Lover is her first new mini album in three years and six months since her 2022 debut mini album, MY. The title track Say My Name is a pop ballad that conveys the enduring echo of a name after parting ways. The pre-release track Reno (Feat. Colde) quickly climbed to top rankings on major music platforms both domestically and internationally upon release.

Reports indicate that Miyeon contributed as a lyricist on the album’s tracks F.F.L.Y and You And No One Else. Meanwhile, the second mini album My, Lover will be released at 6 p.m. on the 3rd across various music sites.
