First Ride Tops Box Office as Korean Film Sparks Five-Day Run Amid Chainsaw Man Clash

First Ride, a youth-focused film featuring a lineup of rising stars including Kang Ha-neul, Kim Young-kwang, and Cha Eun-woo, hit theaters with strong momentum, claiming the box office lead for five consecutive days starting last Wednesday as it edged out Chainsaw Man: Leze Arc.

Data from Korea’s box office data system show First Ride has drawn 368,000 cumulative admissions to date. Observers credit the film’s bright, upbeat tone that resonates with young audiences, and Cha Eun-woo’s role as host at the APEC summit welcoming dinner for boosting the film’s buzz.

In the latest box office rankings, Chainsaw Man: Leze Arc and Exit 8 placed second and third respectively, while a special screening of K-Pop Demon Hunters climbed to fifth.
