Her sister Park Seung-yeon is a Matilda alum and is now pursuing acting; though she drew early attention as part of an entertainment-family, she has forged her own path as Actress Park Jung-yeon.
Park Jung-yeon, the daughter of folk singer Park Hak-ki and actress Song Geum-ran, has stepped into acting and is currently seen in KBS2’s weekend drama Glamorous Days, portraying Park Young-ra, the youngest daughter in a chaebol family. Her performance shows a character gradually finding her own path while living under her mother’s pressure. Jung-yeon began as a trainee at SM Entertainment in 2015, spent about four years training, and was part of SM ROOKIES, earning praise as a “pretty trainee” from fan communities.
Before debut, she left the idol track, explaining that acting lessons during training felt fresh and drew her toward acting. In late 2019, she joined KeyEast’s 2020 rookie lineup, and in 2022 she signed with Salt Entertainment to pursue her acting career more fully. She had previously debuted on TV in tvN’s Hi Bye, Mama! (2020) and later built her acting experience through subsequent projects, establishing herself as an emerging talent.
Her family’s showbiz background extends to her sister. The article notes that sister Park Seung-yeon comes from the girl group Matilda and is now active as an actress, illustrating how the siblings navigated their paths within the entertainment industry. Park Jung-yeon’s journey has been shaped by that celebrity lineage, yet she has chosen her own route as an actress.
Beyond acting, Jung-yeon has ventured into music, releasing her first digital single Paradise with Dangu on September 9, a mid-tempo ballad that reflects cherishing loved ones and everyday happiness. She participated in writing some of the lyrics, which has drawn praise from fans for its soulful delivery. This year she appeared in SBS’s Try: We Are the Miracle and KBS2’s Glamorous Days, continuing to expand her presence as an artist and actress.
