Bo-gom has hosted the MAMA Awards previously in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022–2024, bringing his total number of hosting duties to seven by 2025. The organizers highlighted his warmth and steady hosting style as assets that will help convey the event’s message to global K-pop fans.

The event’s organizers described Bo-gom as a “global icon” whose communications and poise are expected to leave a strong impression. They noted that his hosting will help deliver the MAMA Awards’ values through the UH-HEUNG message, aiming to resonate across diverse regions, ethnicities, and cultures.
