Seventeen is partnering with the Smurfs, a global beloved character, to launch a special collaborative project. The collaboration includes a Smurf version of Seventeen’s track “Music God,” with the music video slated for release in November. The idea was inspired by the Smurf’s birthday and the release date of “Music God,” which both fall on October 23. A teaser released earlier showed silhouettes of 13 new Smurf characters, sparking fan curiosity. In addition, Smurf versions of 13 Seventeen members are expected to be revealed in the future. The collaboration will reflect the Smurfs’ blue-skinned, small-statured, and magical aesthetic, incorporating Seventeen’s individuality, with merchandise launches announced based on the collaboration characters. The partnership underscores shared values of teamwork, friendship, cooperation, and tolerance, with a message of positivity and solidarity through music. Seventeen has been expanding its cross-brand collaborations, including past efforts with Sanrio and BE@BRICK in Japan, and with a Smurf-inspired bear in China featuring the character ‘Bong Bong Bear’ as a fan favorite.
