KIKI’s activities will extend beyond music into storytelling, audio, and music releases; Kakao Entertainment to serialise a web novel next month.
KIKI, the girl group, is set to become the protagonist in a web novel as part of an IP expansion. Their idol activities, previously limited to music, will be expanded into storytelling, audio, and music releases.
Kakao Entertainment announced on the 28th that from 6 p.m. on the 4th of next month, it will serialise “Dear X: Tomorrow’s Me to Today’s Me” on KakaoPage. The project marks a broader IP expansion for the group.
The novel follows members Ji-yu, I-sol, Soo-i, Ha-eum, and Ki-ya as they unexpectedly cross into an alternate world and embark on a journey to return to their own. The writer Kimbbang, who authored the web novel “Tomorrow’s Best” that inspired the drama “Seonjae Upgo Twig,” penned this adaptation.
The novel comprises 53 chapters. The release coincides with the publication of a new song based on the novel’s world, “To Me, From Me,” which KIKI performed herself. On the 12th of next month, the members will also release prologue and epilogue audiobooks that they recorded.
