NewJeans-Adore Exclusive Contract Dispute: First‑Instance Verdict Expected This Week

A court is set to rule on whether Adore’s exclusive contract with NewJeans remains valid amid ongoing legal proceedings.

The Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Affairs 41st Division will hold the ruling on the exclusive contract validity suit filed by Adore against the five members of NewJeans on the morning of the 30th at 9:50 a.m. NewJeans held a press conference last November to announce the termination of their exclusive contract with Adore and preview independent activities. Adore argued that the exclusive contract remains valid and filed the contract validity lawsuit with the court in December last year. The court granted Adore’s provisional injunction, barring NewJeans from engaging in entertainment activities without Adore’s prior approval until the verdict on the case. NewJeans members attended a provisional hearing in April.
