BOYNEXTDOOR channels Hollywood-style swagger as they unveil their mini fifth album The Action and its title track, Hollywood Action.
BOYNEXTDOOR, the six-piece boy group behind two consecutive million-seller runs, has returned with a bold new release. The group held a showcase on the 20th at KBS Arena in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, unveiling their mini fifth album The Action along with the music video for the title track Hollywood Action. The six members—Seongho, Rio, Myeongjaehyun, Taesan, Ihan, and Unhak—suggest a new chapter of growth and self-improvement, while each contributed to the album’s creation to further sharpen the group’s identity.
Hollywood Action, the title track, casts the members as figures exuding the confidence of Hollywood stars. Seongho shared that he aimed to embody a character with star-level assurance: “I tried to immerse myself in a persona that radiates Hollywood-style confidence.” Rio added that the track is built for audience interaction and features a clear narrative arc: “It’s a song you can bounce around to with the audience; it has a definite setup, buildup, and payoff. We paid close attention to giving it energy and letting it breathe during the recording.”
Ihan is credited on the title track for the first time, reflecting on the process: “I waited for this day. The song-making process was really tough, but it’s also incredibly engaging. That’s why I plan to keep challenging myself.” Unhak, meanwhile, expressed early confidence in the song’s potential: “As soon as I heard it, I felt it could do well. The chorus is the standout—it’s catchy and addictive.”
