Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin were awarded Best Actor and Best Actress at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. The 46th Blue Dragon Awards, which celebrates Korean cinema, was held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, and was hosted by Han Ji-min and Lee Je-hoon. The ceremony brought together figures who led this year’s Korean cinema.

Hyun Bin was announced as Best Actor and stood up to accept the trophy, then hugged his wife Son Ye-jin on stage. Son Ye-jin was named Best Actress for the film Harbin (어쩔수가없다), and she appeared surprised as Hyun Bin embraced her. Son Ye-jin later said she did not expect the win.

Hyun Bin expressed gratitude to the colleagues and staff who supported him, saying the experience of filming Harbin taught him more than the film itself and that many who sacrificed to defend the country made his presence on the stage possible. He thanked his family, including his wife Ye-jin and their son, as well as his fans and colleagues who stood behind him.

Earlier in the evening, the couple also won the Popular Star Award as a pair. Together, they achieved a historic feat by taking both the Popular Star Award and Best Actor/Actress awards at the Blue Dragon Awards, marking them as the first couple to accomplish this double. Son Ye-jin added that this comeback film after seven years helped her grow as an actress and that she’s determined to keep improving.
