Jungkook, IU, and Jang Won-young Hooked by Kancho's 'Find My Name' Campaign

Celebrities post Kancho photos as the “Find My Name” challenge goes viral, boosting sales.

From BTS’ Jungkook to IVE’s Won-young and singer IU, a snack has captured their attention as Kancho’s “Find My Name” campaign sweeps through the industry. The cookies carry one of 500 names or four character names, and participants post images of the pieces that bear their name.

On the 18th, Won-young posted several photos on her social account, writing, “Won-yeong is not there.” In the posted images, she held Kancho bags and studied the names printed on the cookies.

Jungkook became a prominent example; on a Weverse Live session on the 28th–29th of last month, he held the Kancho bag and looked for his name, “Jungkook.” The live stream reportedly drew as many as 10.8 million viewers.

IU also joined in. She noted that her name wasn’t printed on the cookies and said, “I thought it would show up quickly because my name is common, but it’s not there.”

Actress Song Hye-kyo was among the first to find her name; last month she posted an Instagram Story featuring a Kancho cookie labeled “Hye-gyo.”

Industry insiders say the Kancho event boosted sales, with more than three million bags sold during the promotion. To meet demand, Lotte Wellfood expanded production, though supply still lagged behind, and the company said it would prepare for a next “Find My Name” season.
