Goobne Chicken backs Korean-Philippine joint film production

A humanitarian rom-com Finding Santos marks the 75th anniversary of Korean War veterans and the 76th anniversary of Korea–Philippines diplomatic ties

J&F Foods, led by CEO Hong Kyung-ho, announced on the 18th that it sponsored the production of the film Finding Santos, which is scheduled to premiere in about 130 theaters across the Philippines on the 19th.

This sponsorship goes beyond simple funding, aiming to spread social value and foster global cultural exchange.

Finding Santos is a Korean–Philippine joint production conceived to commemorate the 76th anniversary of Korea–Philippines diplomatic ties and the 75th anniversary of Filipino veterans’ involvement in the Korean War. The film follows Woojin, a former K-pop star who reconnects with Filipino veteran Santos, who saved his grandmother during the war, as Woojin and his manager Junha travel to the Philippines.

Cast and crew include Jung Taeo as Woojin and Mage (a member of the Philippine girl group YGIG) as Gabi, with direction by Son Hyun-woo, known for works such as Parking Director, Dead Again, and Saigon Sunset. The production notes that this collaboration aims to deepen cultural connection and broaden Goobne Chicken’s appeal in the Philippines.

Goobne Chicken’s first Philippine outlet is located at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in the Taguig area, featuring signature items like Original, Volcano, and Soy Garlic. The company intends to use this venture as a stepping stone to expand across Asia and accelerate its global push of Korean food.
