World Vision announced that the 2025 Global 6K Marathon virtual run, featuring ATEEZ member Hongjoong and official fan club ATINY, concluded successfully amid strong fan participation. The campaign, designed as the “Hongjoong 6K Special Run” to mark Hongjoong’s birthday on November 7, invited fans to join in a meaningful act of giving. Participants ran 6 kilometers over the week from November 1 to 7, regardless of time or location, and shared their confirmations on social media.
Participants received a Hongjoong-version digital bib, photo cards, a morning-call voice, a running playlist, and a certificate of participation, with SNS verification also encouraged to boost engagement. Moreover, this year the event expanded to include World Vision Singapore, enabling more global fans to take part in the charitable effort.
Registration fees were 11,700 won per person, and the campaign raised a total of 60 million won, all donated to World Vision. The funds will support World Vision’s global water, sanitation and hygiene programs to help secure clean water for African children and improve sanitation conditions.
Hongjoong has partnered with World Vision since 2022, supporting domestic child-welfare programs such as the Dream Wings Club and other initiatives, and last year led the inaugural Global 6K Marathon with around 3,400 fans, raising 60 million won. He said he felt, running with fans, that “together, anything is possible,” and hoped the donations would help African children and communities facing water and sanitation challenges.
World Vision President Jo Myung-hwan thanked Hongjoong and fans for continuing the birthday donation tradition and pledged that World Vision would do its best to ensure the warm-hearted contributions reach children in need.
The World Vision Global 6K Marathon is a global fundraising campaign to deliver clean drinking water to African children; the event aims to empathize with the hardships they face as many must walk 6 kilometers to obtain water. This year, Korea held a nationwide event for the first time, with sites in Changwon, Jeonju, Daegu, Daejeon, and Goyang, drawing about 16,700 participants.
