Former Pentagon member Hui signs with WithUs Entertainment, signaling a new phase in his career

A former Pentagon member, Hui, who helped create the track Energetic, has signed an exclusive contract with WithUs Entertainment and is set to begin full-scale activities. He debuted in 2016 as a member of Cube Entertainment’s boy group Pentagon, serving as leader, main vocal, and lead dancer, helping to anchor the group’s musical direction.

Since his debut, Hui has consistently participated in songwriting, composing, and arranging, earning the monikers “all-rounder” and “genius producer idol.” Notably, he played a key role in Pentagon’s signature track Shine and contributed to Produce 101 Season 2’s track Never as well as Wanna One’s debut track Energetic.

WithUs is a comprehensive entertainment company whose roster includes Apink’s Chorong, Yoon Bo-mi, Kim Nam-joo, Oh Ha-young, Mamamoo’s Wheein, and the boy group The Wind. Hui’s move to WithUs is believed to reflect a long-standing relationship with WithUs CEO Ji-yong Kim, who has shared music direction with Hui since his Cube days.

Beyond his performance career, Hui has demonstrated creator capabilities through self-composed songs and collaborations on music programs such as Keyboard King, Breakers, and The Call 2.
