Disney+’s glamorous lineup unveiled in Hong Kong, featuring 재혼황후, 현혹, 킬러들의 쇼핑몰 시즌2, and more
Disney+ is unveiling a star-studded lineup for 2026 that includes Korea’s leading names such as Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung, Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, and Lee Se-young, along with 시동욱, Kim Hye-jun, Kim Seon-ho, Suzy, IU, Byun Woo-seok, and even BTS as prominent figures set to headline Disney+ originals. The ensemble is expected to spearhead Disney+’s upcoming Korean and APAC-focused content slate next year.
The Walt Disney Company, as the parent company of Disney+, treats the Asia-Pacific region—with Korea at its center—as a key market, presenting content tailored for that market. Luke Kang, President of The Walt Disney Company APAC, explained that Disney+ has built a robust APAC original lineup and aims to expand Disney+’s global reach by leveraging IP, talent, and platform capabilities to grow APAC originals into global franchises.
Among the prelude for Korean originals, the piece highlights titles such as 조각도시 (Ji Chang-wook and Do Kyung-soo) and 메이드 인 코리아 (Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung). It also notes 골드랜드 (Park Bo-young, Kim Sung-cheol, Lee Hyun-wook) and the return of 킬러들의 쇼핑몰 season 2 with a broader action scope, as well as 재혼황후 (Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Se-young) and 이세영. The lineup also includes 21세기 대군부인 starring 아이유 and 변우석, and 현혹 featuring 김선호 and 수지.
In addition, 디즈니+ rolled out 현빈, 정우성, 우도환 in 메이드 인 코리아, and highlighted 재혼황후 with Shin Min-a and Ju Ji-hoon, along with 이종석 and 이세영. The article also points to 21세기 대군부인, which involves 아이유 and 변우석, and 현혹, which features 김선호 and 수지. The lineup paints a broad picture of Disney+’s push into diverse genres and international collaborations, aligning with Disney+’s strategy to expand Korean-originated storytelling to a global audience.
Further titles noted include 운명전쟁49, a reality-competition involving fortune tellers, and 이게 맞아?! Season 2 featuring BTS members 지민 and 정국 on a friendship-focused travel journey. The reporting emphasizes Disney+’s ambition to grow its APAC-originated content into global franchises, with Korea leading the charge in cross-border collaborations and high-profile casting across Korean cinema and television.
This snapshot of Disney+’s 2026 slate underscores a deliberate emphasis on Korean drama and film IP, with major stars collaborating on a mix of romance, thriller, historical, and action genres as Disney+ positions itself to broaden its international appeal while anchoring Asia-Pacific storytelling at the core of its strategy.
