The Selects Tokyo popup, in collaboration with Restir, targets Korea’s high-end fashion audience
Korean authorities and industry partners are bringing Korean fashion to Japan’s high-end market through The Selects Tokyo popup at Restir in Tokyo, running offline from November 7 to 23 and online from November 14 to 30. The event, conducted in partnership with Restir—Tokyo’s premier high-end edit shop—expands KOCCA’s The Selects program to give Korean designer brands direct contact with local consumers beyond traditional B2B channels. Eight brands are participating: LIE, MüNN, VERSO, BONBOM, UL:KIN, EENK, HANNAH SHIN, and HAGAHI, each presenting distinctive styles tailored to the Japanese audience. The opening ceremony on November 7 drew around 300 attendees, including local fashion insiders and media; Beomgyu from Tomorrow X Together served as the muse, wearing brand outfits and engaging with reporters to showcase Korean fashion’s global reach. Japanese designer MIHARA YASUHIRO provided a DJ set to heighten the event’s energy, while attendees discussed the expansion of K-fashion and potential collaborations. Media outlets such as WWD Japan, Vogue Japan, and GQ Japan covered the pop-up, with Japanese fashion influencers visiting and sharing reactions on social media. Maiko Shibata, Restir’s Creative Director, called the collaboration a valuable platform for presenting Korean designer brands in Japan, and KOCCA’s Acting President Yu Hyunseok pledged to strengthen support so Korean brands can reach diverse global audiences. The event underscored the growing influence of Korean fashion in Japan and beyond.
