All five NewJeans members will return to ADOR after a legal dispute over “mistreatment,” signalling a fragile K-pop reunion

All five NewJeans members are set to return to ADOR, according to a statement issued by Hanni, Danielle, and Minji. The announcement follows an earlier statement from ADOR saying only Hyein and Haerin would return, which sparked fan confusion about whether the group would remain a five-member act.

The development marks another twist in the months-long legal battle between NewJeans and ADOR. The group had previously announced their departure last year, citing “mistreatment” and “manipulation,” claims that ADOR has denied.

Last month, a South Korean court ruled that NewJeans’ contract with ADOR—set to run until 2029—remains valid, a decision the group said it would appeal.

ADOR stated on X that Hyein and Haerin had decided to “respect the court’s latest ruling” after thoughtful discussions with their families and with ADOR. Hours later, Hanni, Danielle and Minji announced they would also return to ADOR “after careful discussion,” with a pledge to continue delivering music and performances.

NewJeans, formed in July 2022, rose to prominence for their distinctive sound and Y2K-inspired aesthetics, becoming one of K-pop’s most talked-about groups.
