Haerin and Hyein first announce their return; Minji, Dani, and Hana join later; decision comes one day before the appeals deadline.

Five-member girl group NewJeans — Haerin, Hyein, Minji, Dani, and Hana — said they would return to Adore on December 12.

Haerin and Hyein, through Adore, announced their return around 5 p.m., stating that after careful consideration with their families and thorough discussions with the company, they would respect the court’s ruling and honor their exclusive contract, and would do their best to enable smooth activities.

Within less than three hours, the remaining members Minji, Dani, and Hana said they had decided to return to Adore after careful consultation, though their return was not previously discussed with Adore.

The timing came just one day before the deadline to file an appeal, and Haerin and Hyein disclosed their intention to return to activities with Adore, while Minji, Dani, and Hana’s return was announced without the same preceding discussion with the agency. The original exclusive contract term between NewJeans and Adore runs until July 2029.
