Hur Yoon-jin Gives Up Offer from U.S. College to Debut with Le Sserafim: “I Had Already Paid the Tuition” (Salon Drip) [Yesterday’s TV]

Hur Yoon-jin shares the story behind choosing debut over a U.S. university after her acceptance.

Hur Yoon-jin, a member of Le Sserafim, has revealed the story behind turning down an acceptance to a U.S. university in order to debut with the group. The web variety show Salon Drip released on November 11 featured Yoon-jin and Kazuha as guests, where fellow star Jang Do-yeon’s admiration for Le Sserafim was also discussed. Yoon-jin spoke about how Do-yeon had long been a fan and how she herself had looked up to Do-yeon during tough times as a trainee.

She explained that before debut, she changed paths after four years of trainee life, noting she moved back to the United States and later got accepted to a university with a scholarship, even paying the tuition, before a call from her company redirected her path toward becoming a vocalist. Reflecting on the decision, Yoon-jin said that upon hearing about the debut, she asked for about a week to decide, but the outcome had already been determined; she felt the move was a meaningful signal to pursue singing, despite having paid the tuition.
