Rosé becomes the first K-pop female artist nominated in major Grammy categories; the K-pop Demon Hunters OST Golden is also nominated across several categories; HYBE’s CatsAI earns nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Rosé and Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters have earned nominations in the Grammy Awards’ top fields, with their work appearing in both Best Song and Best Record categories for the 68th Grammys. This marks the first time a K-pop act has appeared in the General Fields nominations. The OST for K-Pop Demon Hunters, Golden, is also nominated across five categories, including Best Song Written for Visual Media.
In addition to Rosé’s nominations, the Grammys are highlighted by coverage from major outlets. Rosé’s hit “Apartment,” which she co-wrote, is cited as deserving of two Best categories and a third nomination in Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, reflecting her crossover appeal in both the song and collaboration categories. Media coverage has underscored K-pop’s breakthrough, with LA Times and Forbes describing the year as a historic moment for the genre and its representation at the Grammys.
CatsAI, HYBE’s US–Korean joint girl group, also secured nominations, including Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, signaling broader recognition of K-pop acts beyond a single star. The group—formed through The Debut: Dream Academy and backed by HYBE and Geffen Records—adds another milestone to K-pop’s Grammy narrative, as members and collaborators contribute to the group’s rising profile.
The Recording Academy is conducting final voting from December 12 to January 5, with the awards ceremony set for February 1 next year at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. British and American outlets, including BBC, highlighted Rosé as the first K-pop idol to reach the Big Four nominations, illustrating the academy’s evolving membership diversity as a factor in expanding K-pop’s access to major categories. The Grammys’ history-making nominations reflect a broader shift in how Korean artists and producers are perceived within the global music landscape, reinforcing the genre’s status as a major force in pop music.
