On a KBS Joy program, the former Mask member describes the incident and her financial troubles.
A former member of the group Mask, Jeon Chi-bin, 27, has spoken about the reasons behind her departure from the group. She appeared on KBS Joy’s variety show What Do You Ask a Bodhisattva, where she met the show’s hosts Seo Jang-hoon and Lee Soo-geun.
On the program, she said, “I was an idol until 2022. Now I’m taking a break, dabbling in crypto and stocks, and I’ve lost about 180 million won including debt. I’m wondering how I’ll live going forward.”
She explained that there were four original members and four joining members, and that they had performed on three different broadcast stages. She described that she left Mask after these tensions surfaced.
After saying she wanted to share her side, she recalled that she felt wronged, and that an incident occurred involving an umbrella. The umbrella’s metal tip reportedly came out and struck her head and face, ending her time with the group as she left four months into their debut.
The details she provided described a confrontation stemming from the incident and its impact on her decision to depart.
