Seventeen X The Smurfs Tease 13 New Smurf Characters Ahead of November MV Debut of "Music God"

Seventeen has teamed up with The Smurfs, a globally beloved character brand, to produce a collaboration featuring a 13‑Smurf character lineup and accompanying content. The project centers on a Smurf version of the group’s track “Music God,” which is set to premiere in November. The collaboration is built around the theme of coexistence, with teaser footage showing silhouettes of 13 Smurf characters aligned to the number of Seventeen’s members.

Through this collaboration, new Smurf characters for each Seventeen member will be unveiled, and a range of products based on these characters will also be released. Each character is redesigned to reflect Seventeen members’ personalities, while retaining the Smurfs’ signature blue skin and cute appearance. The Smurfs were created by Belgian artist Peyo in 1958 and have enjoyed enduring popularity across comics, animation, and film. The collaboration communicates messages of positivity and solidarity through music and characters, with Seventeen describing shared values of teamwork, friendship, tolerance, and cooperation.

In addition, Seventeen has been showcasing a series of global collaborations with other character brands this year, including Sanrio and BE@RBRICK collaborations in Japan, and the “BonBon Bear” collab with the Chinese brands “BonBon” and “Teddy Tales” in China. The initiatives illustrate Seventeen’s expanding international footprint as they continue to partner with global IPs.
