From her hiatus to her favorite scene

Yoon Ga-eun makes her return with The Owner of the World, six years after her last film. Initial international reactions to The Owner of the World have been notable.

In September, it became Korea’s first film invited to the Toronto International Film Festival’s competitive section, and at the Pingyao International Film Festival it won the Jury Prize and the Audience Award. Yoon says she approached making this film with the same mindset and spirit as when she started making films, treating it as a fortunate miracle and beginning the new feature.
