Korea’s first tteokbokki-spoon idol is on the horizon. On October 28, Modenberry Korea announced plans to launch a new boy group in the second half of 2026, introducing trainee Ha Min-gi as the first member. The project centers on a concept described as a tteokbokki-spoon idol.

Ha Min-gi, born in 2007, is the grandson of Shinseon Tteokbokki founder and chairman Ha Seong-ho. He previously trained at SM Entertainment and is noted for his tall stature at about 185 cm and his striking visuals. Modenberry Korea said it is actively supporting his debut preparations and is dedicating efforts to trainee training ahead of the planned 2026 debut.

Ha Min-gi told the agency that he is excited to communicate with a wide range of fans and hopes to become an artist who delivers heartfelt music. He added that, although still a trainee, he aspires to connect with the public through his music.

Modenberry Korea also houses artists including Teen Top’s Bang Min-su and DIA’s An Somi, and the upcoming boy group is anticipated to make a mark in the K-pop market.
