Expanding their refreshing sound while staying true to their signature vibe
Tours (TWS) has demonstrated further growth with their fourth mini-album Play Hard, building on their established sound while adding fresh variations that intensify their signature color. The first impression of Play Hard remains within their familiar sonic territory; the title track Overdrive powerfully conveys the rush of youth in love, propelled by a brisk, energetic beat and strong performances that align with their past releases. This expansion of their musical spectrum signals a bold new direction while staying true to the group’s refreshing vibe.
Growth signals emerged as early as the pre-release track Head Shoulders Knees Toes, with sharper choreography and a declarative stance that pushes their boundaries and broadens the group’s musical scope. The year’s newcomers have evolved into young artists who actively shape their own narrative, and the public responded to their new image. The album sold around 640,000 copies in its first week (October 13–19), surpassing their previous first-week figures and underscoring a steady upward trajectory toward a career high. Through successive seasons, Tours has solidified their distinct color beyond mere “cheerful” vibes, growing into a more multifaceted act, and anticipation for their future remains high.
